The conference will be taking place at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. The Bridgewater Hall is Manchester’s international concert venue, built to give the best possible space for acoustics. The Hall hosts over 250 performances a year, and is the home to three resident orchestras: the Hallé, the BBC Philharmonic and Manchester Camerata.
The remarkable roof appears to hover, weightless, above the building. One of the most fascinating aspects of the Hall’s construction is that the structure floats free of the ground on almost three hundred, earthquake-proof isolation bearings or giant springs, so there is no rigid connection between the 22,500 ton building and its foundations. The Bridgewater Hall auditorium seats nearly 2400 people.
Situated in the heart of the city, the Hall is surrounded by a spectacular range of unique architectural styles, making Manchester’s skyline a sight to behold.
The Bridgewater Hall is accessible by all modes of public transport, and is in walking distance from local eateries, ale houses and bars.
